         Restaurant – This Friday don’t miss Ryan Wolf’s Schnitzel special!  Other upcoming fine culinary opportunities:

        Cottages for bid – the Illinois District has two cottages up for bid.  To be eligible to own a cottage you must have been a member of a Turner society for at least one year by the time the bids are opened on August 27th at the next District Council meeting.  Submit your bid in a sealed envelope with a check for your full bid amount, $750 or best offer.  Include how many years you have been a member and to which Society you belong.  Bids will be opened and read at the August 27th District Council meeting.  Should you have a winning bid you may take possession immediately and you will have all the rights and privileges and will not owe anything until the ground leases are mailed this fall.
Cottage 26 – one room cottage in Mosquito Hollow (near the river)
Cottage 52 – one room cottage in Aurora Lane (close to parking and the Rathskeller)
Handicapped parking – We have new signs and more spaces for Handicapped Parking.  Please be mindful of the change if you do not have a handicapped sicker, even if you are loading or unloading while the Raths is open. Thank you
FAMILY BREAKFAST – Come down and join us on Sunday. You can order off the menu, sit, relax and enjoy Turner Friends.  Looking forward to seeing you all.





COUNSELOR APPECIATION DINNER:   It will be on Tuesday, August 7th at 6:30pm  at the Rathskellar.  Show your appreciation to our staff for a job well done by preparing your favorite Dish to Pass.  Please bring your food ready to serve (Disposable dishes are very convenient since no one has been assigned dishwasher  duties for the evening.  If cooking is not your thing, make a monetary donation, so that no one goes hungry!!  Please give monetary donations to Laurie VanDahm (Cottage 91) by Friday, August 3rd.
Golf - Illinois District Turner Golf  Two-Person Scramble Tournament.

The first tee off time is 9:30 AM.  Men, women, or a combination of man and women. Prizes include but are not limited to Four Closest to the PIN, Four Long Drive Holes, and Skins. Ladies Card Party - Thanks to all that donated, participated and helped to make the Ladies Auxiliary card party a success. The profit was $1,577.  The best ever.  Thanks, Ann  Craft Show has been canceled.
Junior Penny Social - We would like to thank everyone that either donated or attended this year’s Junior penny social. If you happened to do both, we give you a double thank you. This year’s event was very successful, and without folks like you, it could never happen. We hope everyone had a great time, and we are looking forward to doing it again next year. By the way, if you haven’t been by the Junior house lately, come for a visit. We think you will be pleasantly impressed. Again thanks, and don’t forget the dance after the final show that the Juniors host. It’ll be great.  ITC Junior club


All age Safety Breaks at the Pool -  Please understand that we will be calling all age safety breaks at the pool when the weather is extremely hot.  We want to make sure that our staff is able to cool down and hydrate.  Thank you, The Youth Committee

YOUTH - Over at youth this past week was Olympic week.  Tie dye tigers were our big winners.
Our cooking class made grilled cheese Sandwiches.   Handicrafts was a funfilled time with making lava lamps and clay pens. The campers had a field trip to Mega trampoline that they all enjoyed very much. We want to thank all of the drivers who helped us out with taking the campers.  Our Saturday was a fun founder's day with campers marching in the parade to Lili leading them in a lovely song on the A-field.
